The Flagship- Whisky Dive Bar

By Tuesday, September 08, 2015

So i'm going to let the cat out of the bag. Flagship. Whisky Dive Bar. Bukit Pasoh Singapore. Full stop.
I kid. Ok not really. I'm going to let you in on some key details but the rest you're just gonna have to find out for yourself ok. So the Flagship is opened by F&B golden couple Indra and Guoyi, who also owns Sugarhall, Jigger and Pony, The Humpback (next door) and Gibson (upstairs). The whisky dive bar is meant to be an un-chi chi spot to enjoy whisky without any stress (especially for beginners). Prices of the shots are presented clearly on the tag of each bottle and indicates prices for 30ml and 45ml shots.
There are over 100 whiskies currently (and growing) and there is space for more. Whiskeys include Ichiro's Malt from Japan and Old Pulteney Scotch. There's also a range from Monkey Shoulder, Glenfarclas to George T Stagg bourbon  Beer chasers are available at $2 a shot to get you high fast.
Commit these faces to your memory as these boys will be making your drinks. Names to remember, Jerrold (senior bar tender), Aki (Bar Programme Director).
Our ritual is to head over to Humpback for oysters and dinner, before getting desserts (yes the Pok Pok Chicken Wings) and nightcaps at The Flagship. Gosh these Pok Pok wings are uber umami with the savory Vietnamese and Thai spices (plus lots of fish sauce)! It also smells of pickled radish (chye poh) haha. Finger licking good. Wash these down with whisky or one of the 3 daily cocktails on rotation and the Redemption Rye with freshly squeezed green apple.
There's a corner for everyone in The Flagship. Head on over, add your flavor and character to the place. This is definitely a place to watch in the coming months.
